What is computer hacking?

In a cyber security world, the person who is able to discover weakness in a system and managed to exploit it to accomplish his goal referred as a Hacker , and the process is referred as Hacking.

Now , let me explain about different kind of hackers in the cyber security world.

Script Kiddie:
Script Kiddies are the persons who use tools , scripts, methods and programs created by real hackers.  In a simple word, the one who doesn't know how a system works but still able to exploit it with previously available tools.

White Hat Hacker:
White Hat hackers are good guys who does the hacking for defensing.  The main aim of a Whitehat hacker is to improve the security of a system by finding security flaws and fixing it.  They work for an organization or individually to make the cyber space more secure.
Break The Security only concentrates on white-hat hacking and help you to learn the Ethical Hacking world.

Black Hat Hacker:
BlackHat hackers are bad guys , cyber criminals , who have malicious intent.  The hackers who steal money, infect systems with malware ,etc are referred as BlackHat hackers.  They use their hacking skills for illegal purposes.

GreyHat hackers:
The hackers who may work offensively or defensively, depending on the situation. Hackers who don't have malicious intentions but still like to break into third-party system for fun or just for showing the existence of vulnerability.

Hacktivists:
The hackers who use their hacking skills for protesting against injustice and attack a target system and websites to bring the justice.  One of the popular hacktivists is Anonymous.

 

What is Session Hijacking?

Session Hijacking is Stealing the existing active Session. The main purpose of Session Hijacking is to bypass authentication process and gain unauthorized access to the computer or Website. In simple words , hackers will login as some other client using their Sessions.

TCP session hijacking is when a hacker takes over a TCP session between two machines. Since most authentication only occurs at the start of a TCP session, this allows the hacker to gain access to a machine

Different Session Hijacking methods:

Session stealing is achieved by following methods

1. Session fixation: 

In this method, the Hacker sets a user's session id to known victim. For example, Hacker will send email to known victim  with a link that contains a particular session id. If the victim followed that link, the hacker can use that session and gain access.

2. Session SideJacking(session Sniffing):  

In this method, the attacker use packet sniffing to and steal the Session cookie.  In order to prevent this, some websites use SSL(encrypts the session).  but do not use encryption for the rest of the site once authenticated. This allows attackers that can read the network traffic to intercept all the data that is submitted to the server or web pages viewed by the client.

Unsecured Hotspots are vulnerable to this type of Session Hijacking.  

3. Client-side attacks (XSS, Malicious JavaScript Codes, Trojans, etc):

Hacker can steal the Session by running the Malicious Javascript codes in client system. Usually hackers attack some websites using XSS and insert their own Malicious Javascript codes.

In client point view it is trusted website, he will visit the website.  When victim visit the link , Malicious Javascript will executed.  It will steal the Session cookies and other confidential data.

4. Physical access:

If the hacker has physical access, it is easy for him to steal the Session.  Usually this will occur in public cafe.  In public cafe , one use login to some websites(facebook, gmail).  A hacker come after victim can steal the session cookies.

Session Hijacking using Firesheep-Mozilla Addon: 

Firesheep is Famous Mozilla addon that made Session Hijacking very easy. Using Firesheep , you can steal the Session of Public WI FI users. Using Firesheep, you can gain access to victim account of the Facebook, twitter and some other websites.

This computer trick will save the all sub directory and file names in text file.  This may helpful to analyse the direcotry(you can know what are the contents inside the window without browsing by simple commands).

Step 1:

First of all open command Prompt.

Step 2:

Browse to folder which you want to analyze the sub directories and files by using cd commands. For Example if you want to visit d:/interview folder then 

try this command. 

Type "d:"

then "cd interview".

Step 3:

after navigate to direcotry in command prompt, 

Type this command :

dir *.* /s /b > dirlist.txt

and hit enter. 

This will list all sub directories and files with their extension. 

If you want to list only pdf files just use this command 

dir *.pdf /s /b > dirlist.txt

Likewise, if you want to search only microsoft word files then use this command.

dir *.doc /s /b > dirlist.txt

If you want to search and list only files that has some certain name. For example, Resume.doc then try this command

dir Resume.* /s /b > dirlist.txt

(or)

dir Resume.doc /s /b > dirlist.txt

Step 4:

you can find the dirlist.txt file in that directory. i mean it will d:/interview directory.

Step 5:

open the text file in notepad or notepad++ ,then search your desired file name or folder(for example "resume"),you will get the full path to the file. This is fastest search than the usual windows search. 

Time is important. Don't waste your time, use this computer trick to search the drive or folder faster.

Hope you understand the trick and you like it. This is fastest way of browsing the folder.

Hacking Facebook account password remotely using Keyloggers and RAT's

Best method for advanced Hackers and my second favorite too. Its popularity is little but lower than Phishing only because it involves you to download hack tool and then create your keylogger and send it to victim which is a lengthy process and also unsecured too as you don't aware that the keylogger that you downloading is himself contain some spyware or simply a keylogger attached with it. Keylogging becomes more easy if you have physical access to victim computer as only thing you have to do is install a keylogger and direct it to your destination so that it will send all recorded keystrokes to pointed destination. What a keylogger does is it records the keystrokes into a log file and then you can use these logs to get required Facebook password and thus can hack Facebook password.

If Facebook hacker or any specific Keylogger, by some means, hacks your primary Gmail or yahoo account which you are using as primary email address, then this information account can easily hack your Facebook password using "Forgot password" trick. The Hacker will simply ask Facebook to send password to the primary email address and ask Facebook administrators to send the reset email to your primary email address- which is already hacked. Thus, your Facebook account password will be reset and it will also be hacked.
So, always remember to protect your primary email address that you have used to create Facebook account and try to keep unknown or useless mail id as your primary email address in Facebook.

A social engineering attack is one in which the intended victim is somehow tricked into doing the attacker's bidding. An example would be responding to a phishing email, following the link and entering your banking credentials on a fraudulent website. The stolen credentials are then used for everything from finance fraud to outright identity theft. An old adage comes to mind here, "it pays to be suspicious". With socially engineered attacks, the opposite is also true - if you aren't suspicious, you likely will end up paying. In addition to phishing, social engineering attacks can come in many forms - email that masquerades as breaking news alerts, or greeting cards, or announcements of bogus lottery winnings. Pump and dump stock scams are also a form of social engineering, playing on the recipients' natural desire to take advantage of a good deal. It's important to remember that if something sounds too good to be true, it's probably a scam. Social engineering attacks are also often used to trick users into infecting their own systems - for example, by disguising the malware as a video codec or Flash update. An email is sent enticing the recipient to view a bogus video clip, the victim visits the link contained in the email and installs the "codec/update" which turns out to be a backdoor Trojan or keystroke logger.

Remember: with social engineering scams, the attacker is relying on you to make the wrong choice. Choose not to be a victim

5. Most important now most website ask that password should be alphanumeric now what users do they just adds 1,2,3 in their normal passwords and some more smart guys adds !,@,# in their passwords and amazingly all in Sequence.

But, once, I thought of using it against my friend on Facebook and amazingly what happened that i guessed his Facebook password very easily by this method. Note the above common passwords are not from any internet resource, its by my own case study that i have come to conclusion after hacking 19,788 emails accounts. As i have already mentioned for advanced hackers second option is best and the only thing that i did was just made my Keylogger USB and pendrive spreadable. Who ever used the infected USB drive also got infected and this procedure goes so on. And last what happened  my 10Gb free storage was filled and i don't have enough time to clean it regularly.

• First go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and open hosts file with notepad. or editor.

• Now paste the BELOW code just BELOW the last line of hosts file. i.e : 127.0.0.1  localhost

3. Types of  keyloggers

Keylogger  can be used by your enemy  to get sensitive information such as your Bank credit card details, or password of any social networking sites etc. In order to be safe keep following points in your mind.

Never use your online banking from cyber cafe. If you want to use then you can try this method. open notepad and type anything Then copy and paste each word that comes in your username or password.

You can even use above method to protect your facebook profile, yahoo or gmail id.

When you enter cyber cafe make sure that no hardware device is attached to keyboard wire. Its look something similar to above image.
